While I’ve loved taking pictures for years, my true photography obsession really took hold last October when I got a new camera. I had been without a camera for awhile and this is only my second digital camera, so I am still wow-ed by all the digital world brings to photography. Freakin’ fantastic. Utterly amazing.

Being a ‘puter junkie as well as a photojunkie, I’ve searched out photography blogs to read, some challenges and themes to participate in, some fabulous tips and lessons along the way.
Because I love it when other folks list great links they have found–and therefore lead me to more great links– I thought I would share some of those that I keep up with most and have come to really enjoy.
Fun, theme/challenge blogs I enjoy:
*The Land of K.A. - here is where I participate in Theme Thursdays. Every Saturday Stacy gives us a theme, a topic to shoot and post about come Thursday. I’ve really enjoyed the themes, but most of all, I’ve enjoyed the group of photojunkie blogs that participate here.
* Exposaroonie- While I don’t really do the ‘contest’ thing in general, I do participate over here some because I so enjoy the challenge topics these gals come up with as well as seeing other folks’ photo shots for the week–all fresh and new, hence the word ‘challenge’!
*Shutter Sisters- A fantastic site for challenges, tips, ideas as well as linking up to visit other blogs or flickr pages to see some great photography. Don’t be intimidated by so many professional gals in one place, this is truly a friendly community and a fun site.
While there are many, many, into-infinity-goes-the-list pro photos whose work wows me, these fellas are the ones I’m reading about, learning from and enjoying at the moment:
*Joe McNally– Oh man. I bought Joe’s book ‘The Moment It Clicks’ and oh man. I started to post about the book here, but it really deserves your hands on it, eyeballs on it. Next bookstore trip, take a look, will ya? (click Joe’s name up there for one of many way coolie blog posts, stellar lighting pics and all)
*Moose Peterson– You just gotta visit this blog–this particular link is one of my absolute favorites ever.
*Lastly but so NOT least, Scott Kelby’s ‘The Digital Photography Book’–both volumes one and two. These books are fantastic, I cannot begin to tell you how much I have learned. Something that really resonates in Scott’s way of teaching–besides the fact that it’s fantasically conversational and easy to follow–is that he includes those photojunkies like me who shoot with multi-option ‘point n shoot’ cameras.
I hope you enjoy clicking over to some of these sites and maybe even join in…or pick up one of the books I’ve mentioned…if you do, let me know what ya think!
